Patient Activation Measures (PAM®)

The Patient Activation Measure® (PAM®) is a validated, evidence-based tool designed to assess an individual's knowledge, skills, and confidence in managing their own health and healthcare. Developed by researchers at the University of Oregon, PAM® provides a quantifiable measure of patient activation, which is crucial for tailoring healthcare interventions and improving patient outcomes.

In CFEP Surveys Academy, we have provided resources, such as publications, information sheets, articles, and case studies, to support your learning about the benefits of patient activation in providing patient-centred care and improved health outcomes. In addition, there are the (PAM®) Clinician eLearning series modules that cover strategies and techniques to effectively engage and activate patients, helping them take a more active role in their healthcare management.
